In 1296, the Kingdom of Scotland signed an alliance with France, England’s greatest enemy. The English army invaded in retaliation, massacring the Scottish resistance and deposing John Balliol, King of Scots. Now, the Scots are revolting against English rule and fighting for independence. The two armies are to meet at Stirling Bridge over the River Forth, where the fate of Scotland lies in the balance.
